A free webinar with Debra Wesselmann, a leading EMDR therapist, EMDRIA-approved trainer, consultant, and author in the area of attachment injury and EMDR with young persons. The session offers an attachment-trauma lens for understanding why a young client may stall in treatment, and how to respond. This webinar covers the common obstacles clinicians face when treating youth attachment trauma, along with the rationale for combining family therapy and EMDR to address it. Participants will learn three therapist qualities essential to building trust with struggling children and their parents, and will practice using an outline to write a brief therapeutic story that delivers adaptive information before trauma processing begins.

About Debra Wesselmann

Debra Wesselmann, MS, LIMHP, is co-founder of The Attachment and Trauma Center of Nebraska and has spent over 30 years treating children, adolescents and families affected by attachment trauma. She is an EMDR Institute trainer, an EMDRIA Approved Trainer and Consultant, and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of EMDR Practice and Research. She is the lead developer of the Integrative Attachment Trauma Protocol for Children/Adolescents (IATP-C) and a co-author with Francine Shapiro, PhD.
